As a seafood dealer, Washington Crab is the main compliance enforcer that fishermen interact with. We are a very transparent and open partner with North Carolina Marine Fisheries (we are actually used as a training site for new marine enforcement officers). The owner of Washington Crab, is the vice president of NC Catch, a non-profit organization that helps educate all stake holders about the NC seafood industry and has an active voice with the creation of fisheries policies and seafood branding in North Carolina. This translate to strict compliance standards when inspecting and buying seafood from fishermen. This enables quality, sustainable seafood to be processed and sold to our local community at equitable pricing.
