About Downeast Dayboat

I show US consumers what seafood is SUPPOSED to taste like by shipping Maine Dayboat Seafood within 24 hours of harvest. Though I specialize in scallops, I also ship other delicious Maine seafood like crabmeat, finfish, mussels, lobster and oysters. I pay my suppliers more because they give me their very best seafood, and I make sure that seafood arrives at my consumers' homes in tip top shape.

I managed Maine's scallop fishery for several years and worked with fishermen to implement dramatic changes to Maine's scallop fishery management. Those measures were successful and we are now consistently harvesting more product more sustainably. Having worked on sustainability I left the state to focus on profitability - I only began selling seafood when I realized no other dealer was willing to specialize in our truly superior product. I continue to volunteer my time and expertise by advocating for Maine scallop fishermen at the Federal level and I refuse to work with fishermen who break the rules. I also pay them a higher price than other dealers, and I label all my bags with the name of the fisherman who caught the scallops, the name of his boat, the harvest date and the harvest area. I work to ensure people from all over the country can experience fresh, pure seafood.
