Being in business since 1948 we continue to allow local fisherman a safe place to dock their shrimp boats. We are the closest to the best fishing grounds of any other dock in our area. We have worked with many of the same shrimpers for over 70 years. Once we purchase the days catch from the shrimpers we simply wash the shrimp, head them and then sell to the public in a fresh, preservative free manner. This is something we are very proud of. We are currently upgrading walk in coolers and adding freezer units so we may better accommodate their catch.

Gay Fish Company is a family owned and operated seafood business started by John "Buster" H Gay, Sr in 1948. We are in our original location in the beautiful state of South Carolina. With a recent infiltration of Buster's grandchildren we intend to aid in the resurrection of a dying industry which provides not only wholesome, sustainable food source but also a means to support our local fisherman.
