About Steamboat Wharf Oyster CO.

Our core values at Steamboat Wharf Oyster Company are: Environmental Health, Respect for the Industry, and Food Education.

We are striving to improve the environmental health of the Chesapeake Bay and Rappahannock River, while respecting the men and women who built the Virginia Seafood industry, and educating our customers (chefs, oyster lovers, and kayakers) of where their food comes from and the importance of oysters in the ecosystem.

We are woman, Latino, and third generation Virginians owned. Our fathers, both avid outdoorsmen, have instilled a love for the outdoors in both of us but have always taught us the importance of conservation and respect for the environment. They often speak on “what the bay used to look like,” always emphasizing the dire need of our generation to work hard, restore water quality, and help the wild population of oysters thrive once more. These values are what inspired us to start our farm and lead us through our day-to-day work and aspirations for the future.
